đŽ Seychelles in March – Our Little Island Escape
In March, we departed for the Seychelles. To be honest, we were just craving a break. Sunny skies, verdant vistas, and picture-perfect beaches. Although we spent a lot of time lounging on the beach, Seychelles is more than that. Beach-hopping adventures, nature trails, giant tortoises and boat rides are all available. What’s the best part? Our three-year-old had a great time!
đĄ Stay 1: Constance Ephelia: Our Beachy Home
Our Junior Suite at Constance Ephelia was incredibly cozy and ideal for a family. The resort is situated between North and South beaches. Each had a distinct vibe. We ended up spending more time at the North Beach because our room was nearer to it. It’s a huge place. We traveled around in golf carts. Everything seemed serene and hidden away in the woods.
Day 1: Port Launay Beach (North Beach)
Our first day was all about slow beach time. North Beach (also called Port Launay) was just a few steps from our room. White sand, clear water and no waves. Ideal for a toddler to splash around. We spotted tiny fish near the shore and just relaxed. It was the perfect start to the trip.
Day 2: Underwater Peek: Semi-Submarine Tour
This was one of the coolest experiences! We went on a semi-submarine tour at St. Anne Marine Park leaving from Eden Island. We had the opportunity to observe the reefs, vibrant fish and even a turtle swimming. We were seated at the lower deck and the tour was for approximately an hour. It had the feel of a moving aquarium. The entire time, our daughter was glued to the window!
Day 3: South Beach & Giant Tortoises
We went to South Beach, also called Anse l’Islette, in the morning. We took a fun little golf cart ride to get there because it was a little further from our room. The beach was spacious, serene, and ideal for a leisurely walk. With so few people around, we just relaxed by the water.
We then went to Victoria’s Botanical Gardens. Our toddler didn’t enjoy the winding road there, but the garden itself was lovely. Along with many other fascinating trees and plants, we saw enormous tortoises and the well-known coco de mer palms. A pleasant diversion from all the beach time.
đïž Stay 2: Coco de Mer Hotel & Black Parrot Suites, Praslin
During our second visit, we stayed at the Coco de Mer Hotel & Black Parrot Suites on Praslin Island, which is tucked away on a peaceful beachfront with breathtaking views of the ocean. The hotel provided a tranquil, tropical haven surrounded by coconut palms and lush vegetation. It was a pleasant and unforgettable part of our trip to the Seychelles because of the infinity pool with a view of the ocean, first-rate service and cozy accommodations.
Day 4: Ferry to Praslin & Checking In
We checked out and took the Cat Cocos ferry to Praslin. It took roughly an hour to get there. It was a bumpy ride because the sea was rough that day. But it was still doable.
We took a taxi to the Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites once we got to Praslin. The atmosphere of the hotel was serene and tranquil. Beautiful views of the ocean, welcoming staff and a laid-back vibe were all present. After the ferry ride, it was exactly what we needed.
Day 5: Coco de Mer & Valle De Mai
We rented a cab for the day and visited the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. UNESCO has designated it as a World Heritage Site. It felt like we had entered a forest from prehistory. We got a close-up look at the well-known Coco de Mer trees. They are unique to the Seychelles and are genuinely fascinating.
Later, we kept things easy and spent time at the resortâs infinity pool. We soaked in the views while our daughter had a blast splashing around. It was a quiet and perfect way to end the day.
đŠïž Stay 3: Kempinski Seychelles Resort, MahĂ©
We stayed at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort on Mahé, a gorgeous resort tucked away in Baie Lazare, for our last stop in the Seychelles. The resort provided the ideal balance of luxury and unspoiled beauty, situated along a calm stretch of beach and encircled by verdant hills. It was the perfect spot to relax and think back on our island adventure, whether we were kayaking in the turquoise waters or enjoying leisurely breakfasts with views of the ocean.
Day 6: From Praslin to Mahé
We checked out from Praslin and made our way back to Mahé . This time we stayed at Kempinski Seychelles Resort. The weather had shifted. Everything appeared lush and green and it was occasionally raining and cooler. The resort itself was stunning, surrounded by nature and located directly on the beach, and the drive from the ferry to the resort was picturesque. We simply enjoyed the property for the rest of the day.
Day 7: Rainy Day at Kempinski
We had planned to go to the Takamaka Rum Distillery, but could not as it was pouring, the roads were muddy and the distillery was quite far away. Rather, we remained and relished the resort. our daughter spent time at the kidsâ club. While she enjoyed it, we relaxed and watched the rain fall outside our balcony. Sometimes doing nothing is just perfect.
Day 8: Heading Back
And just like that our Seychelles trip came to an end. We packed up, said goodbye to the gorgeous views and flew back to Dubai. Recharged, relaxed and already dreaming of our next beach escape.
